Dustin Jamison

Mr. Dustin JamisonAssociate Principal

Dustin Jamison joined the Shawnee Mission North team in 2018. Prior to serving at North, he worked at Shawnee Mission West for 1 year as an Instructional Coach. Prior to West, Mr. Jamison worked 11 years in the Turner School District as a Secondary Technology Coach, math teacher, football and baseball coach. He also worked in the DeSoto and Wellington School Districts totaling 8 years.

Jamison attended Kansas State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Education. In 2018, Jamison earned his Master's in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University. Jamison has two children in the SMSD district, while his wife works as a psychologist at KU Medical Center.

Dustin serves North as the associate principal for technology, testing, and performing arts; he is also the administrator for students with last names beginning with A through G.

Mr. Jon DurhamAssociate Principal 

Jon Durham joined the Shawnee Mission North team in 2012 as a Social Studies teacher.  Prior to coming to North, he had worked in education overseas.  At North, Mr. Durham has coached cross-country, tennis, football, and soccer in addition to teaching AP courses, being a Department Chair, Program Coordinator, and sponsoring various clubs and activities. 

Jon earned a master’s degree in educational leadership at Baker University.  

Mr. Durham serves North as the Associate Principal for departments including performing arts, fine arts, and science. Other responsibilities include Building Finance, Real World Learning, Master Schedule, Transportation, and Graduation. Mr. Durham is also the administrator especially working with students with last names beginning H-N.

Dr. Laura brogdonAssociate Principal

Dr. Laura Brogdon joined the Shawnee Mission North team in 2021. She had previously been at North as an instructional coach during the 2017-2018 school year and student taught at North in 2008.  Between these years Laura served as a math teacher at SMW for 8 years, 2 years as an Associate Principal at Hocker Grove Middle School, and 1 year serving as the Principal for the Remote Learning Program: SMSD Connect.  

Dr. Brogdon attended the University of Kansas where she earned all 3 of her degrees- Bachelor’s in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics; Masters in Curriculum and Instruction; and finally, Doctoral degree in Educational Administration.  Brogdon has two children, Haley- 7 and Rylee- 4, and her husband sharpens and repairs surgical instruments for hospitals and surgery centers around the metro area.

Dr. Brogdon serves North as the associate principal for staff development, Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s), and testing; she is also the administrator for students with last names beginning with O through Z.

Annette Gonzales

Ms. Annette GoNzalesAthletic Director

Annette Gonzales joined the Shawnee Mission North team in 1993 as a Physical Education and Health teacher and girls varsity basketball coach and volleyball and softball assistant coach. In 2007, she served one year as the teacher on assignment at SMN and in 2008 Gonzales became an Associate Principal. This past year, she moved to the athletic director position.

Gonzales attended Missouri Western State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education (Physical Education and Health) and Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science. Annette served two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Northern Iowa for the basketball program and Physical Education department. Gonzales earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University in 2004.
