Shawnee Mission North Principal

David Ewers is entering his twenty-third year in education, and his fourth year as the building principal of Shawnee Mission North.  He joined the Shawnee Mission North team in 2015 as the athletic director. He spent the next five years as an associate principal.  Prior to serving at North, he worked at Mill Valley for three years as an associate principal/athletic director. Prior to Mill Valley, Mr. Ewers worked 9 years in the Olathe School District as a social studies teacher, assistant football and head track and field coach. He began his teaching career at Monticello Trails Middle School in USD 232.

Mr. Ewers attended Baker University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in 2002. In 2006, Mr. Ewers earned his Master's in Educational Leadership from Baker University. He earned his Education Specialist degree from Pittsburg State University in 2021 and is currently pursuing his educational doctorate (Ed.D) from the University of Arkansas.
